WebSiphon Enterprise Module

Does it scale? Yeah, you betcha!

Using the WebSiphon Enterprise Module, you can connect to and access any ODBC-compliant data source when developing applications for deployment on the web or as part of a corporate intranet.

Supported databases include:

  • dBASE IV, V
  • FoxPro 2.5, 2.6
  • IBM DB2 2.x v5, v6.1
  • Informix 7 & 9
  • Microsoft SQL Server 6.5, 7 & 2000
  • Oracle 7, 8, 8i, & 9
  • Postgres 6.2, 6.5 & 7
  • PrimeBase
  • Progress 6, 7, 8 & 9
  • Sybase 10, 11, & 12
  • Text
  • (any other ODBC data source...)

In order to function, WebSiphon Enterprise Module requires an ODBC Driver Manager be installed on the server. Two options are available from third-party vendors, each of which offer a wide variety of database connectivity options. ODBC Driver Manager software may also be included with third-party packages such as Microsoft Office.

For specific database connectivity information, see the vendor web sites referenced below.

DataDirect ODBC Driver Manager products available from Metro Technologies:

  • DataDirect Connect ODBC v4.0 provides access to Microsoft SQL Server 7 & 2000, Oracle 8 & 9 as well as text and other ODBC sources
  • DataDirect Connect ODBC v3.51 provides access to Microsoft SQL 6.5 & 7.0, Oracle 8, as well as text and other ODBC sources
  • DataDirect SequeLink provides access to nearly every major database package available including DB2, Informix, Oracle, Sybase, and others

Open Link ODBC Driver Manager products available from Open Link.

  • Open Link Software provides access to IBM DB2, Informix, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres, Progress and Sybase as well as others sources

WebSiphon Enterprise Module's ODBCLib relies on an ODBC Driver Manager to connect to a data source and will not function without. Accessibility options are dependent on drivers, not WebSiphon Enterprise. If you need assistance locating a connection driver for a specific database server, please contact us. With the WebSiphon SDK you can even connect to legacy mainframes and other proprietary or non-standard servers.

Pricing

The WebSiphon Enterprise Module has a retail price of US $995.00 and includes the ODBCLib built-in library. All Purity Software products are available directly from our online store using the link in the menu above.

System Requirements

The WebSiphon Enterprise Module requires Mac OS 9.1, WebSiphon 2, and an ODBC Driver Manager to operate. The module's functionality is implemented through ODBCLib, a built-in function library which is installed into the "WebSiphon Data:Libraries:(built-in):" folder.
